If you've ever had the chance to go to Forks, Washington, then there's a good chance you've met Mike Powell, the town's chief of police. According to the Forks Forum, the newly appointed mayor of Forks has dismissed him:
"Mayor Bryon Monohon, taking his first significant action since becoming Forks’ mayor on Jan. 1, made the announcement of the firing on Monday afternoon, Jan. 11.

In a prepared statement, Monohon explained in simple terms his justification for the firing:

“I have determined that there is a need for new leadership in the Forks Police Department. As a result, and pursuant to FMC 2.30.010, I have dismissed Mike Powell from the position of Chief of Police for the City of Forks.”
