Post Movie Release Madness
EDIT: Fandango e-mailed us saying that they are selling more than 10 tickets for New Moon per second! Though honestly, I'm not surprised. :)

Now that the New Moon movie is out and the Twilight saga fan base has probably multiplied by 200%, the news has been getting into rush hour traffic (so much news to post, so little time)! Here's our attempt to try and catch up:

According to Deadline Hollywood, ProNetworks, and Variety, New Moon is beating record after record money wise. From Variety:
"Summit Entertainmentís The Twilight Saga: New Moon tore up the box office record for best opening day, grabbing the title away from Warner Bros. The Dark Knight, and earning a spectacular $72.7 million yesterday at 4,024 theaters.
An exceptional feat for a film playing outside the summer frame.
Dark Knight had minted $67.2 million from 4,366 runs on July 18, 2008 before making a three-day opening weekend of $158.4 million."

New Moon just barely missed passing Dark Night's opening weekend sales with $140 million, but it did break the All-Time 3rd Biggest Opening Weekend record of $135.6 million made by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Manís Chest! The Twilight saga is playing with the big boys now!

We still need three more fans to have online interviews with about the New Moon movie for our ultimate review, so if you'd like to be one of the five fans to have their opinions of the New Moon movie here on our news blog, then e-mail us at twilight@edwardsmeadow.com with the subject 'Movie Fan Interview.'

EyeCon has decided that instead of just having vampires at their event, they're going to have a whole new event for the vampires! Check it out:
November 21, Orlando - EyeCon Celebrity Convention has announced the launch of their first annual BloodLust Vampire Festival on January 15-17, 2010 in Orlando, Florida. The event will feature major celebrity guests from popular vampire related movies and television shows. Already signed to appear is Twilight's Kellan Lutz, the star of 90210 and the upcoming Nightmare on Elm Street film. Negotiations are underway for many more celebrity appearances and will also feature guests from other popular Vampire films and television shows such as the very popular Vampire Diaries which airs on the CW Network and HBO's True Blood as well as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and others.

The convention will be a haven for all vampire enthusiasts as they will be able to congregate and indulge in vampire related games, panels, costume contests and activities with other people with the same interests.

EyeCon Conventions are known for having the most interaction and personal time with the celebrities featuring Q&A sessions, photo ops, concerts, a Celebrity Cocktail Party, Celebrity Banquet and Fangbanger's Masquerade Ball. Fans often leave the convention feeling as if they have bonded with the celebrity guests and take away the memories of a lifetime.

Online ticket sales will launch on November 25, 2009 at 12pm Eastern. Those wishing for the best shot at sitting with his or her choice of star at the banquet should be ready to place the order as soon as the ticket sales launch to get the lowest badge number and the better choice.
